A councillor with voting rights who has a disclosable pecuniary interest or another interest as set out in our Council’s Standing Orders Code of Conduct (Item 13) in a matter being considered at a meeting is subject to statutory limitations or restrictions under code of conduct and their right to participate and vote on the matter. Guidelines are available at the meeting and all councillors have received a copy prior to the meeting.
4 SELECTION OF MAYOR AND DEPUTY MAYOR FOR 2023-2024
To discuss the selection of the new Mayor and Deputy Mayor in advance of the Annual Meeting (Mayor Making) on Monday, 15 May 2023.
The quorum for the Full Council is 8
The next meeting of the Full Council will be the Annual Meeting (Mayor Making) on Monday, 15 May 2023.
Standing Order 5: the current Chairman/Mayor of the Council shall preside over meetings until a successor Chairman/Mayor has been formally elected. In an election year, if the current Chairman/Mayor has been re-elected, s/he does have an original vote in respect of the election of the new Chairman/Mayor. If they have not been re-elected, they still preside over the meeting but do not have an original vote; they must however by law give a casting vote in the case of an equality of votes
