We’re so pleased to hear that Wallingford has been awarded ‘Silver’ in the Britain in Bloom’s town category, as well as winning the regional award for ‘Community Involvement’, a fantastic achievement. A huge thank you goes to everyone involved in this process and to everyone who continues to play a part in community gardening, re-wilding areas and looking after the green spaces in Wallingford.
On 4th July, judges from Britain in Bloom visited Wallingford and were taken on a 2 hour tour of the town, showcasing projects from groups such as Wild About Wallingford, Sustainable Wallingford, Incredible Edible, the Earth Trust, and the open spaces that the Town Council looks after.
The judges were impressed at the amount of community involvement in the town, with representatives from each community projects stationed to speak to them at different points along their route. A scrapbook highlighting this work which was part of the application is available to view in the Town Information Centre.
