730/22     MEETING PROTOCOL

The Chairman welcomed everyone to the meeting, congratulating Members on their election, and advised those present of the protocols that would be followed for the meeting.

He also reported on recent mayoral activities including participation in the Election Hustings in the Market Place on 29 April 2023 and attendance at the Council’s Coronation events.  He thanked former Town Councillor Mick Kidley for allowing the use of Centre 70 at short notice for the indoor public screening of the Coronation of King Charles III due to inclement weather.

732/22     DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

No interests were declared.

733/22     SELECTION OF MAYOR AND DEPUTY MAYOR FOR 2023-2024

The Council discussed the selection of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor for the 2023-2024 Municipal Year.

The Deputy Mayor would be appointed by whomever was elected as Mayor.

It was proposed by Councillor Lester, and seconded by Councillor Holder, and RESOLVED by unanimous vote that Councillor Daniel Beauchamp be put forward for election as Mayor at the Annual Meeting on 15 May 2023.
