Community groups and charities that are helping to support people during the cost-of-living crisis can now apply for a grant from Oxfordshire Community Foundation.

The funding, from £500 to £10,000, is available to help groups meet the immediate demand for essentials, develop preventative solutions and personalised support; support the creation of community hubs; and help to promote services to communities and partner organisations.

The grant is aimed at supporting those who are disadvantaged, such as families on low incomes, isolated older people, people struggling with their mental health or long-term health conditions and people who are more vulnerable during the cost-of-living crisis.  Funding could be used to help provide activities such as debt advice; food and meal distribution; drop-in centres including lunch clubs, social clubs and family support groups; practical advice around reducing energy or housing costs; extension to existing services and regular community events to bring people together to alleviate loneliness and reduce isolation.
