On Friday 12th August from 1200-1400 a number of roads in Wallingford will be closed to allow the RAF to carry out the Freedom of Wallingford Parade.
Further details regarding Bus Diversions are below. (Please note it is the responsibility of the bus companies to divert their fleet during this time so times and diversion routes may be subject to change.) Oxford Bus Company and Thames Travel will be unable to operate via Wallingford Bridge, High Street or St Mary’s Street during the closure. These will be advertised www.oxfordbus.co.uk in due course.

The River Rapids X39/X40 services will need to divert as follows:

Towards Wallingford & Reading (From Crowmarsh) via A4074 Port Way, right into A4130 Nosworthy Way, ahead onto A4130 Bosley Way, right into Hithercroft Road, ahead into St John’s Road, right into Reading Road where normal route to Reading can be resumed.

Towards Oxford (from A4074) left into A4130 Nosworthy Way, right into Winterbrook, ahead into Reading Road, left into St John’s Road, ahead into Hithercroft Road, left into A4130 Bosley Way, ahead into A4130 Nosworthy Way, left into A4074 Port Way, left into The Street (Crowmarsh), right into Benson Lane where normal route to Oxford can be resumed.

Thames Travel

136 and X38 will operate as per the River Rapids between Crowmarsh and Wallingford.  33 will need to operate via Croft Road & St John’s Road.

 

GOING FORWARD BUSES

If the market place is closed, the following services will start from LIDL at the normal times from Market Place and will pick up at the Old Police Station shortly afterwards:

12:15 Wallingford to Dorchester / Berinsfield

12:35 Wallingford to Watlington

13:30 Wallingford to Goring

Other changes if the Market Place is closed:

13:00 Watlington to Wallingford will set down at the Old Police Station and then run to LIDL

13:20 Wallingford – Home Park – Wallingford WILL BE CANCELLED
