Oxfordshire County Council is in the process of assessing all signal-controlled pedestrian crossings and junctions in Oxfordshire with a view to upgrading the equipment on site.
The Lambs Crossroad traffic signal junction has been identified as one to be actioned.
The existing poles will be replaced with new poles and a new signal controller will replace the existing obsolete one. New extra low voltage equipment will be installed with LED signal heads, which, as well as greatly reducing the power consumption and carbon footprint of the site, will reduce hazards in the event of accidental damage to the equipment.
Refurbishment work will commence on Monday 25th July. Temporary multi-phase lights with pedestrian facility will be in place while the work is in progress which has an anticipated completion date by Monday 15th August.
