Nigel

Nigel Everett

I‘ve lived in Oxfordshire since 1996, apart from a brief period in Devon. Although I only really discovered Wallingford in 2018, I’ve quickly grown to love both the area and the community.

My main interests are sport, as a spectator rather than a participant nowadays. I volunteer with Wallingford & Crowmarsh FC when I can.

I’m passionate about open spaces in general and also volunteer with Earth Trust. I love walking on the Clumps or more locally by the river. I worship at Ridgeway Community Church in Wallingford and am a great advocate for the work of the Food Bank and Community Fridge. I also help out at events like BunkFest and was honoured that Mark Brett is my proposer.

If elected, I will seek to promote open spaces and leisure facility provision to try to give young people better things to do than loiter around the Market Square.

Len Pannett

Len is running to be your Town Councillor to help build a thriving community in Wallingford, powered by its people and businesses.

A Wallingford resident for 17+ years, bringing up his family here, he’s long supported several local groups, including as a school governor and on the Sinodun Players committee. He also founded the successful, 8,600-member Wallingford Matters Facebook group.

Len has seen firsthand the challenges the local community and businesses face, and he listens to what they have to say.

Among his ambitions is to establish a Wallingford Chamber of Commerce, a hub for networking, education and collaboration that helps our local businesses to grow and support each other, creating a rising tide that lifts the entire community.

Len gets things done; from Royal Navy submarines to company Boards, he’s bringing the leadership, experience and real-world solutions to make them happen. Vote for Len: together let’s make Wallingford flourish!

Christine

Christine Sandall

I would welcome the opportunity to become a Town Councillor because I believe in the value of public service and want to help make a difference for the people who live in our Community.

I have been fortunate to live in Wallingford and its surrounding villages for the last 30 years. Our 3 children were born at Wallingford Hospital and I feel a strong connection to our town. After leaving my career as a Legal Aid lawyer I have volunteered – currently for Wallingford Emergency Food Bank and Helen and Douglas House.

The main areas where I hope to help make a difference are :

  • Encouraging the provision of services and facilities for children and young people particularly in view of of our town’s growing population.
  • Working towards enhancing our environment and promoting sustainability by helping Wallingford work towards a greener future while continuing and supporting the existing initiatives for reducing litter.
