Please see a live map of flood warnings in the area.

All residents and visitors should follow this advice:

  • Flood water is not clean and not suitable for children and dogs to play in. There might be hidden hazards under the water such as manhole covers that have lifted. Anyone who has been in flood water should wash their hands at the soonest opportunity.
  • Avoid driving through flood water and avoid towpaths.
  • Always remain at a safe distance and stay on higher ground where possible
Some of our residents and their properties have been impacted by the floods. You may see water discharging into roads, this is helping to keep properties safe. Please take care of any obstacles on pavements and roads, especially as the temperatures are forecast to drop with risk of ice.

If you have been impacted by the floods or are still at risk, the links below will signpost you to the key local organisations who can offer help and advice

Mike Pic

On the 18th March, Councillor Mike Acreman accompanied residents from Lower Wharf and St Leonard’s Lane in a visit to the National Flood School in Crowmarsh that he had arranged on their behalf. The Flood School team provided brilliant advice on everything from insurance to household flood protection measures, with demonstrations of various products.

In follow-up, they are identifying other experts that could visit homes to provide more specific advice. Mike is arranging another visit to the School and other Wallingford residents are welcome to join. Please let us know if you are interested.
