Allotment access will be restricted and no vehicles will be able to drive onto the allotments from the 5th September until around the 14th October. They are targeting 6 weeks of works and will try to improve this where possible but this also may be hindered by weather for surfacing works etc.

The footpath is to the link from the back of Fir Tree Avenue, through to the allotment access gate and linking up with the Highcroft development. There is a footpath closure notice which will advise users of the diversion.

The works will consist of resurfacing the existing tarmac, laying a new tarmac path, removal of vegetation to facilitate the path width and installing a new fence whilst repositioning the existing allotment gate. The allotments will also have a new access into the new allotments on Highcroft (these are proposed to be adopted in February 2023) this goes over an existing, now not used allotment and a new allotment being developed. There will also be a resurfacing of the road way around the allotments.

We hope to cause you as little disruption as possible throughout this period and welcome you to make contact with us or relevant parties if you have any concerns or questions during the works, on the below details.

Working hours will be restricted to between 8am – 4.30pm. The footpath will be closed for the duration of works but there will be restricted access allowed to you the allotment holders to the allotments on foot (no vehicles access) during the works.

Access to the works will mostly be from the Highcroft development, however the contractors will need to access the works via Fir Tree Avenue.
