We are pleased to share the estimated timings for the Women’s Tour on Saturday 11 June with you.
The race will start in Chipping Norton around 11am and will then pass through Cherwell and West Oxfordshire before entering the Vale by crossing the River Thames at Radcot around 12.50pm. The riders will then race through many of our towns and villages in the Vale of White Horse and South Oxfordshire before finishing in Oxford at 3pm.
You can now view the full estimated route timetable. There are also maps showing the ‘no waiting coning requirements’ along the route now available on Oxfordshire County Council’s website. Please note – the times are subject to change and are being provided at this stage to help inform any local events planned to mark the occasion.
A map showing the full route in detail is also now available for the public to view on The Women’s Tour website.
To ensure the safety of competitors and the public, rolling road closures will take place in each location on the route, for a short period, from around 15 minutes before the race is due to arrive until all the riders have passed safely through.
Here are the approximate times we expect the race to reach each town on the route in our districts:
Faringdon – from 12.55pm (roads closed from 12.40pm)
Wantage – from 1.30pm (roads closed from 1.15pm)
Didcot – from 1.50pm (roads closed from 1.35pm)
Wallingford – from 2.00pm (roads closed from 1.45pm)
Abingdon – from 2.35pm (roads closed from 2.20pm).
The final Sprint of this year’s race will also take place in Burcot, around 2.25pm.
While the road closures are in place there will be no vehicle access to the route or most connecting roads. There will also be no parking on the route on race day until after all riders have passed. This restriction will be strictly enforced, and any vehicles will be removed.
The road closures are being administered by race organisers Sweetspot, in liaison with Thames Valley Police.
